Darjeeling tea, grown in the city of same name, is a
world-famous black tea that is valued for its light and delicate tang, known as
"muscatel" by the tea connoisseurs.
This spicy and flavorful beverage owes its source to the
mighty Himalayas for the reason that tea trees raised at higher altitudes are
usually considered to turn out better tealeaves as compared to those raised
adjacent to the sea level.
Though, quite often than not, this tea is considered as
similar to the black tea, it goes through a phase of processing referred to as
a "hard wither," and this theoretically makes it an oolong tea. But
this theory has become a thing of the past as due to the urge for variety,
several tea gardens are creating exact oolong tea, green tea, yellow label tea, and even white teas.
Each tea plantation is recognized for a distinctive flavor
of tea produced by its soils and climate, and, in general, they take five
harvestings of Darjeeling tea leaves in a year being named as "1st flush," "In
Between," 2nd Flush," "Monsoon," and "Autumnal
Flush."
This type of tea is very good for our health. It
is great source of antioxidants and flavonoids that are wonderful and immunity
boosters and are helpful in detoxifying our body. It is also useful in
preventing heart diseases. Moreover, Darjeeling tea
has anti-cancer qualities. People who wish to reduce their weight can develop
the habit of consuming this drink regularly. This also helps in
preventing and curing tooth decay. It also shows beneficial results for
the skin and also as a pain reliever for the arthritis patients. So start
drinking a healthy cup of tea and see its wonderful effects on your health.
